We get asked a lot of questions. These are some of the most commonly asked ones.
How do I access my control panel?
To get to your control panel, open any web browser and type in your domain, followed by "/config" without quotes. (For example: mywebsite.com/config ) This will redirect you to the login page for your control panel. You will need your control panel username and password to login.
If you don't remember your password, try the password reset on the control panel login page. If you don't remember your username or the password reset doesn't work, please contact our support team. We can send you a copy of your login information.
What is the difference between a domain and hosting?
A domain name is the name of a website. It is comprised of a name you choose followed by a TLD or domain extension, such as .com, .org, or .net. People who want to visit your website will type this into the address bar of their browser.
A domain name can be set up to direct visitors to a hosting account. Hosting is the physical server space where you store the web page files, images, and content of your website. Hosting accounts also include necessary resources that allow people to access your website on the internet, such as bandwidth.
Websites need both a domain name and a hosting package to function, but you can usually host multiple websites (domains) on a single hosting package.
What does it mean if a site says "Not Secure"?
Certain browsers will warn visitors if a site they're visiting is not secured by an SSL Certificate. An SSL Certificate is a service that encrypts sensitive data being transmitted through a website, such as credit card numbers, so that it cannot be intercepted by unauthorized parties or scripts. The URL of a secure website will begin with HTTPS.
You can contact us to receive a free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate for your website or you can purchase a commercial SSL Certificate for your website through WebHostingPad for $24.95/year. You can also read about the difference between Let's Encrypt vs. Commercial SSLs.
Can I use a website builder with my hosting plan?
Absolutely! We offer 3 free website builders you can choose from:

Weebly, a drag and drop website builder that publishes HTML directly to your web server, for a fast, simple, and secure website creation experience. You can sign up for Weebly right away, or switch later.

WebHostingPad offers unlimited disk space with its shared hosting packages, with the understanding that “unlimited” is incremental. The initial quota for disk space is 10 GB (gigabytes), which the majority of users will never exceed. If you have used 90% or more of this quota, you may contact WebHostingPad to request an increase, which WebHostingPad will grant you, free of charge, if and only if you meet the following requirements:
WebHostingPad reserves the right to suspend, without prior notification and at its sole discretion, your account if your site is found to be in violation of the terms or service, including use of your hosting space to store media or emails. You are solely responsible for removal of any and all excess media, email, or files to meet the criteria of these terms, and/or to avoid suspension. If you wish to set up POP3 or IMAP to store your emails elsewhere, WebHostingPad Support will help you, with the understanding that we are under no obligation to do so.
WebHostingPad offers unlimited bandwidth with its shared hosting packages, with the understanding that “unlimited” is incremental. The initial quota for bandwidth is 100 GB (gigabytes) per month, which the majority of users will never exceed. If you have used 90% or more of this quota, you may contact WebHostingPad to request an increase, which WebHostingPad will grant you, free of charge, if you meet the following requirements:
WebHostingPad reserves the right to deny bandwidth increase, suspend your account, or take further action, if your site or account does not comply with the terms of service, including if your bandwidth usage is caused by illegal or malicious means, unintentional or not, or your site is compromised in such a way as to alter bandwidth usage significantly, to the harm of other users. In the event that your bandwidth usage is caused by malicious or unnatural means, and 1) the malicious or unnatural means are resolved and no longer acting on the account or site, and 2) you still use 90% or more of your bandwidth quota, you may then request a bandwidth increase, which WebHostingPad will, at its sole discretion, decide to grant or deny. WebHostingPad is not liable for any denial of bandwidth increase, or loss or damages resulting from that denial, that occur.
Website transfers from a previous host to WebHostingPad will be done free of charge. This free transfer is only valid when the website being transferred is currently hosted with a different web hosting company. Any transfers from one WebHostingPad account to another WebHostingPad account in an attempt to avoid paying renewal fees, or for any disingenuous reason, will result in a $24.95 transfer fee for our time and assistance, at WebHostingPad’s sole discretion.
Transfers consist of website files and databases only. Email addresses, FTP accounts, subdomains, addon domains, parked domains, and other services, addons, or features must be recreated in cPanel with WebHostingPad.
The maximum account transfer size cannot exceed 2 GB.
You are entitled to only 1 free transfer per WebHostingPad account. In the event you wish to transfer multiple outside hosting accounts to WebHostingPad and consolidate them into one, additional fees will apply based on the total number of hosting accounts you are consolidating. WebHostingPad does not recommend consolidating a VPS or dedicated service with multiple cPanel accounts into a single shared hosting account. However, if you wish to do this, only one cPanel account will be transferred to WebHostingPad for free. Any additional accounts being transferred for consolidation will incur additional fees.
You must provide WebHostingPad with your previous hosting account’s FTP details, control panel login, MySQL login, and any other requested information for WebHostingPad to successfully transfer the account.
WebHostingPad cannot guarantee a successful transfer, although we will try our very best, if any of the following conditions are met:
WebHostingPad offers one (1) free domain registration for a one-year term with the purchase of a new hosting plan and valid account sign-up.
Domain registration prices vary by TLD and premium status. The free domain offer has a maximum value of $16.99, which may not cover the entire cost to register certain TLDs. If the cost to register a chosen TLD is greater than $16.99, then $16.99 will be subtracted from the total cost of the domain registration.
The free domain offer is valid for a domain transfer (with automatic 1-year domain registration extension), to a maximum value of $16.99, if no domain name is being registered and a new account has been created.
The free domain offer is only valid with use of the "FREEDOMAIN" coupon code, and may not be used in conjunction with any other coupon code, special offer, or discount.
The free domain offer is only valid within the first 30 days of account sign-up and must be claimed or requested within that timeframe to be honored. The free domain offer may only be claimed once per account. WebHostingPad reserves the right to disable a coupon code at any time with or without notice and at their sole discretion.
After the first year of registration, the domain name will renew at the regular rate. Domain name registration and renewal are determined by WebHostingPad's registrar, enom, and may vary over time depending on demand.
Each of WebHostingPad’s shared hosting plans carries a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied within the first 30 days, you will be given a full refund.
The following services do not qualify for any refunds, including the 30-day money back guarantee:
All sales of services and products listed above are final and non-refundable, and WebHostingPad reserves the right to pursue all available courses of action to obtain payment.
Any account that is or has been in violation of WebHostingPad’s Terms of Service is not entitled to a refund. This applies to currently and formerly abusive or harmful accounts, regardless of your awareness. Please refer to our Abuse Policy for additional information.
WebHostingPad guarantees that our servers will be up and running at least 99.9% of the time during any given 12-month period.
This guarantee does not cover any areas where WebHostingPad has no direct influence, such as backbone provider failures, fibre-optic main line cuts, DNS or Domain Registrar issues, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, or connection issues between your location and the WebHostingPad data center, including, but not limited to, internet service provider blockages, browser caching issues, and IP blocks.
This uptime guarantee is also not applicable for service interruptions caused by natural disasters, wars, political or social upheaval, terrorism, the zombie apocalypse, or other external issues WebHostingPad has no control over.
Uptime is monitored within WebHostingPad’s servers and any third party monitoring software will not be honored.
In the event WebHostingPad does not meet the 99.9% uptime guarantee, hosting credit will be issued to your account in an amount equalling one month of hosting for every 8 hours of downtime exceeding the 99.9% guarantee.

There is a hosting industry standard to offer discounted prices to new sign-ups, and then revert back to regular rates once the first term is up—much like phone, television, and internet providers.
WebHostingPad also follows this standard, so the prices you see listed are for new clients only. But while other hosts will start charging $15.00/month for even their cheapest plan after the first term, all of our shared plans renew for less than $10.00/month, and our cheapest plan renews at only $4.49/month. That makes our regular rates some of the most competitive in the industry.
In order to maintain our US-based support and our advanced hosting infrastructure, we simply can't grant you the special offer for renewals. But we are committed to keeping our hosting affordable to continue helping small businesses and new entrepreneurs succeed online.
So don't fret when your second invoice is more than your first—you're still getting one of the best deals around, and you will be for years to come.
