FAQ

We get asked a lot of questions. These are some of the most commonly asked ones.

How do I access my control panel?

To get to your control panel, open any web browser and type in your domain, followed by "/config" without quotes. (For example: mywebsite.com/config ) This will redirect you to the login page for your control panel. You will need your control panel username and password to login.

If you don't remember your password, try the password reset on the control panel login page. If you don't remember your username or the password reset doesn't work, please contact our support team. We can send you a copy of your login information.

What is the difference between a domain and hosting?

A domain name is the name of a website. It is comprised of a name you choose followed by a TLD or domain extension, such as .com, .org, or .net. People who want to visit your website will type this into the address bar of their browser.

A domain name can be set up to direct visitors to a hosting account. Hosting is the physical server space where you store the web page files, images, and content of your website. Hosting accounts also include necessary resources that allow people to access your website on the internet, such as bandwidth.

Websites need both a domain name and a hosting package to function, but you can usually host multiple websites (domains) on a single hosting package.

What does it mean if a site says "Not Secure"?

Certain browsers will warn visitors if a site they're visiting is not secured by an SSL Certificate. An SSL Certificate is a service that encrypts sensitive data being transmitted through a website, such as credit card numbers, so that it cannot be intercepted by unauthorized parties or scripts. The URL of a secure website will begin with HTTPS.

You can contact us to receive a free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate for your website or you can purchase a commercial SSL Certificate for your website through WebHostingPad for $24.95/year. You can also read about the difference between Let's Encrypt vs. Commercial SSLs.
